Keeping up with the Greek Property Laws
This article offers information on the recent buzz in the Greek property laws.
ELECTRONIC BUILDING ID CODE checklist
Continuing the “fast tracking” of many new property laws that began over a decade ago, the digital age of property transfers and ownership in Greece is moving in full-speed. For the first time in history, all Greek property will be registered on an electronic database securing faster and more transparent conveyances in the future.
The much discussed but delayed “Electronic Building ID Code” will soon be a requirement for all property sales and transfers. Once this law is in effect, you will not be able to sell your Greek property without applying for the Building ID Certificate. Once the process is complete, this certificate will state a unique code for your property issued only by a certified engineer.
The question is, are you prepared?
To help you navigate the process, we’ve put together a checklist of the most important documents you will need to start getting organized.
